Winnpeg gas prices climb again

A tug-of-war between competition and product prices hit Winnipeg gas pumps in the midst of a fuel boycott yesterday.
May 15 was set as a date to avoid buying gas on networking websites like Myspace, in an attempt to drive prices down.
But local pump prices instead ranged from $1.12 to $1.21 a litre.

Manitoba motorists saw pump prices jump as high as 110.9 cents per litre in Winnipeg from 103.9 in the afternoon. This week’s hike was being blamed on the kidnapping of six oil workers in Nigeria, low gas gasoline inventories in the United States, disruptions at some refineries there and production cuts by OPEC.
