OTTAWA — Your first indication will likely be at the gas pumps. At midnight on June 30, gas prices will jump at least eight cents, effectively ending the days of sub-$1-a-litre gasoline.

Pump prices up in past week: survey

Gasoline prices jumped an average 4.9 cents over the last week to $1.032 a litre, a weekly report showed Tuesday.

The survey, released by energy consultancy MJ Ervin & Associates, showed the most expensive market in Canada, among the 60 communities profiled, continued to be Yellowknife. The average price for regular gasoline there was $1.186, even with last week.
